I got to see a bunch of friends that I graduated high school with last night, and it was a blast! I figured it was the perfect time to try the whole intriguing bike short deal Stylish posted up on Chictopia (though granted, I had to opt for my old black ones from volleyball)... definitely comfortable and easy for a night of dancing!

I love having friends that know how to have a good time while being sober... it seems like way too many of my peers nowadays need alcohol or other various substances to have fun. How disappointing.

Anyhow, to sum up... my friends are awesome. And driving around at 2 in the morning with nothing but the cold air through the window while singing along to Miss Gaga at the top of my lungs can certainly keep a girl awake. Exhilarating!

I have to literally ban myself from shopping, but I am compelled to find the perfect romper... It's proven pretty difficult for my body type (short torso and looong legs! help!), but this one looks promising! Any suggestions??

P.S. In case you were wondering, the pink shade from my last last post was a cheapo pinky red lipstick I found at home, layered over MAC's California Dreamin'.

Well, I figured my need for money surpasses my love for this jacket (took me so long to realize I needed to let it go!)... so I just posted it up on the shop blog. Be sure to check it out and help out a broke college student. :)

On another note, just came back from a day of shopping and got a pretty big haul of stuff (American Apparel + outlet mall = sheer awesomeness)... One of which being that sweetheart two-toned dress that just came out! For like, $15 cheaper than retail! I loove a good deal. It fits amazingly, hugs curves (like it made my straight, boy-ish body actually look kinda curvy!), and is strangely so comfortable to wear. Like, the mesh is... soft?

My only problem is that I have no idea what to wear underneath it. I also bought some white cotton dresses but I have no idea what underwear you're supposed to wear with it... I'm assuming nude? I usually don't deal with this kind of problem. Help!!

And thank you for all the well wishes. :) The night of ridic dancing from Friday (last HS dance... aww) definitely helped ward off most of the intensity from my illness, but yesterday I just erupted in cold sores, probably from the stress on my body. TMI probably, but hey, it's a blog. And my body is just... failing. Do you ever get that feeling where your body becomes allergic to... your life?

Hahah.

Will also be going on a road trip with some friends this weekend. Opportunity to get American Apparel at 60% off? HELL YEAH.

What to wear for 4 hours of testing

I'm such a crappy blogger. I love you people who still read/comment. I'll try and post more, I promise! I think I might start trying to post a photo at least every other day.

I am currently:

• Taking AP exam after AP exam (each four hours at a time).
• Going crazy over the play.
• Trying to fix this 'broke ass' status I got (aka find a job).
• Purging my closet and simultaneously having attachment issues.
• Looking for a pair of sandals that AREN'T gladiator and expensive.
• Only buying clothes that are insanely soft to the touch.
• Wishing someone would effing buy something from the shop blog. Come on you guys!
• Trying to find a running buddy at my low level (because all the runners I know are freaks that can't go less than 5 miles at a time. WTF)
  
• Being aerodynamic.

These are seriously some of the best jeans I've ever owned. So so so slouchy. My friend gave them to me after she didn't want to wear them anymore (and her knowing I was lusting after 'em hella bad!). Her reasoning? No one else at school wore the style (baggy, slouchy, boyfriend, etc.) and she didn't want to be the only one. Lol, freshmen. And they're from China too, hence the Asian... awesomeness that just exudes. Like, so bad you can feel it. (TWSS)

Old outfit & Senior Ball &... update?

HEY GUYS! I miss blogging, honestly. And I miss reading comments from those lovely people that swing by here regularly. :) I see the views still rack up, but I get no comments! Where's the love? I want to get to know my readers!

Here's an old outfit (from like, a month ago). Nothing special, but I get a "Why are you so dressed up?" every once in a while. Sigh, high school.

Senior ball!!

I actually went to two this year. My date goes to another high school, and we ended up going to each other's proms.

Decided to do it up vintage this year :D Sorry for the shitty photo, but this was the one that showed the dress the best. It was black but has this sheer mesh top layer with glittery outlines of flowers on it. It's really hard to photograph but it's so pretty. Stumbled upon it while thrifting a few years ago, but I've only worn it once!

And don't you feel like you find the best things on accident? Shopping-wise, I mean.

My prom was a bit more glamorous, I guess. I usually never dress like this, normally OR for dances!

If you guys were curious, the makeup was done at the local MAC counter at the mall, after reading about Selena (aka flying saucer! <3 her blog) and her experience with getting her makeup done there. The gold/black dress is from Nasty Gal Vintage, isn't it gorgeous? I died when I saw it and just HAD HAD HAD to have it! And the shoes were from Target. Heel height n00b, so obv I took that shit off after dinner and pictures and stuff (4 1/2 inches! I couldn't handle it :( ).

On a more recent note, I've been traveling like crazy the past three days visiting colleges (must be over 1500 miles! Cheeses!) but was so fun. Found some amazing jewelry in the most random places. I'll update you guys on that later!!

What a life!

Still here, you guys. Been sooo busy!

• Senior Ball was pretty much amazing. The makeup and hair ended up wonderful! I felt like a princess. (Pictures soooon :)!)
  
• Went down to UCSB to check it out yesterday and today, it's gorgeous.
• Going down to UCSC tomorrow to check it out one last time (I'm torn between SC and SB!).
• Possible road trip to SF with the bestie.
• Successful present shopping.
  
• And homework, homework, homework.

I've pretty much been an epic fail at fashion lately. Slightly ashamed to say that I have just resorting to old t-shirts and jeans. All of the inspiration that came with the ability to layer in the winter has vanished. My wardrobe all of a sudden feels extremely unupdated
(is that even a word?). I have been trying to hold back from spending, but some things I simply could not resist, like this bright canary yellow tank dress that is so quintessentially spring I couldn't NOT buy it! And for ten bucks!

So please lovelies, how are you all pumping new life into an old wardrobe for the new spring season? Taking any advice!

Finally feels like spring

Hey guys! I swear I'm still around, just juggling a lot of stuff right now. Schoolwork, balancing as a performer/choreographer/instructor for the color guard, and planning Senior Ball... just a lot on my plate. Got loads of outfits though! I hope all of you darlings are just peachy.

College admissions came back! So far, accepted by a fair amount of uni's, rejected by UCSD >:( Hoping to hear back from Berkeley soon... Wish me luck!

Trying times

As of this moment, self-imposed shopping... ban. Well, I'm reluctant to use this word because it won't be a complete, 100% ban. Maybe... a... 98% ban. My bank account is seriously depleting, and when you have no job, this is suckage. Only things I plan on buying in the next week are possibly some Starbucks tomorrow morning and the AA circle scarf on Friday. (After watching all those how-to videos on diff' things to do with the scarf... I'm hooked. AA, I'm basically your bitch.)

From all the readers I've been getting lately (but so few comments, what's the dealio?), any advice on how to get through the nasty habit of shopping excessively? Any would help... really. Thanks guys.

Just a bunch of outfits I'm gonna shoot at ya. I think they're from the past... week or so? But I've been a sick and lazy bum so that's why these are all so late... :x



The next one was one of my most favorite outfits lately... tights taken from an old costume a few years ago (Malice in Wonderland, if you were curious!), and are surprisingly thick and sturdy for shitty costumes.



I think I'll start telling people my hair smokes crack when I sleep... that's a valid excuse for it looking different every single day, right?

Thank you for the well wishes... I am definitely better (my throat doesn't really bother me and I'm less tired), but it's definitely still looming in the distance. The illness, I mean. It helps that I've had a four-day weekend (I stayed home from school on Friday), but that means I have loads to catch up on. Le sigh.

I think I'm going to start having a weekly... poll/question thang every week. I'm curious about you readers :)

02.02 Keep It Simple

Been so casual and lazy lately... barely any outfits to show! But I decided to go for a more laid-back-but-I-still-wanna-try-to-be-chic look after a long school day and a grueling practice interview for two hours. Fun. :)

I sooo need to get a black blazer that actually fits me! Thrifting trip soon, eh?



I fiiiinally found a pair of black skinnies that fit me. It was one of those things where you search for hours upon hours for the perfect pair... and on another day when you're just perusing out of boredom, you finally find 'em. Wtf world? The only thing that bothers me is that it has the texture of corduroy (where it has that fuzziness) and catches lint and crap. But they fit me and were under $20, so I'm not complaining too much.

And tonssss of items up in the STORE. Some of my favorites are the pretty feather earrings, vintage forest green velvet vest (I had a really hard time parting with that...), vintage baby blue angora scarf, and vintage sheer red blouse (PERFECT amount of sophisticated slouchiness!). Snap them up before I regret posting them! ;) Kidding of course.

Winter! Back!

FINALLY off for break... and I managed to finish my 7-page research paper, and there is just about no homework for me to do (or none that requires extensive time, at least!), which leaves me so so so happy. Now my Express and Amazon packages just have to come in the mail... :)

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately... with the temperature finally dropping down to winter-status levels (50s and 60s! About time, California!), all I've been wearing really is that CK coat... it's so warm. Mmm.

I've been spending tons lately too.. I tend to spoil my loved ones. It's fun to shop for friends.

So yeah, not really much to say. All I've been doing lately is reading the Twilight series... I'm so hooked. Damn you, Stephenie Meyer.
